About Joe
Representative Joe Hogan has served Pennsylvania’s 142nd Legislative District since 2023.
A native Bucks Countian, Joe grew up in Levittown and attended Conwell-Egan Catholic High School. Joe earned a master’s degree in community and economic development from Penn State University and a law degree from Temple’s Beasley School of Law. As a member of former Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick’s staff, he developed experience helping his neighbors and learning about the unique qualities and needs of the community.
Prior to serving in the General Assembly, Joe wrote and managed grants as program director for the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Bucks (RDA). Working at the RDA provided gave Joe firsthand knowledge of the needs of businesses when looking to start or expand operations in our region. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he worked with regional partners to develop relief programs, secured and distributed more than $1 million in grants and loans to keep local businesses operation. Joe was also responsible for the administration of millions of dollars in emergency services grants to keep our communities safe and first responders prepared.
He serves on the following committees: Children and Youth (Vice-Chair), Consumer Protection, Technology & Utilities (Chair of subcommittee on Consumer Protection), Gaming Oversight, and Human Services.
Joe has focused on making Pennsylvania more affordable for everyone, keeping our schools funded and our communities safe. He has authored numerous pieces of legislation from tax credits for youth sports expenses, increasing penalties for gun store robberies, and resolutions recognizing Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and Epilepsy Awareness Month.
He remains active in the community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington Crossing Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Joe, his wife Janita, their daughter Asha and rescue dog Cady reside in the Langhorne section of Middletown Township.
