Hogan Announces Over $2 Million in LSA Grants for Area Projects

HARRISBURG – Rep. Joe Hogan (R-Bucks) today announced multiple projects in the 142nd District have been approved for grant funding from the Pennsylvania Local Share Account (LSA) program.

LSA grants support projects in the public’s interest and projects that improve the quality of life of citizens in the community. Eligible projects must be owned and maintained by an eligible applicant or a nonprofit organization. Eligible applicants include counties, municipalities, municipal authorities, land banks, councils of government, redevelopment authorities and economic development agencies.

The projects that will receive LSA grant funding are as follows:

- The Levittown Fire Company #2 will receive $250,000 to assist with the purchase of a new, specialized fire truck to replace the current, aging vehicle. The volunteer fire company serves portions of the 142nd District.
- The Northampton Bucks County Municipal Authority will receive $821,205 to replace iron and manganese filters at the municipal authority’s Well 16 located in Northampton Township. These filters will be replaced to maintain water quality and regulatory compliance within the authority’s system. The existing filters, installed approximately 25 years ago, are deteriorating and at risk of failure due to corrosion.
- The Lower Southampton Fire Department will receive $630,000 for the purchase of a new fire truck. This new vehicle will replace its 2007 Special Service apparatus with a Wildland Brush Truck. The current apparatus is 18 years old, exceeding the 15-year replacement recommendation.
- St. Mary Medical Center-Langhorne will receive $314,384 to purchase new hospital beds for its facility. Specifically, 44 Hercules Patient Repositioning System ProCuity hospital beds will be purchased. The project will aid Saint Mary Medical Center by providing update equipment and structural components which will increase the quality of care offered by the healthcare professionals and ultimately improve the employee retention.
- Lower Southampton Township will receive $461,206 for the purchase of five new municipal vehicles. This project includes replacing three outdated police vehicles, a mini track loader and a dump truck with updated models. These investments will help strengthen emergency response capabilities and improve the township's ability to maintain critical public infrastructure without unexpected interruptions.

“I was proud to support these projects with my fellow Bucks County colleagues to bring over $2 million back to the 142nd District,” said Hogan. “These projects support key municipal and healthcare improvements, making our community a safer and stronger place to live for everyone who chooses to make the 142nd District home without increasing your tax dollars.

“Additionally, I am very glad to see that the redevelopment authority will now have the funds necessary to operate a county-wide blight program. Having worked directly on this program in the past, I know it is a powerful tool to bring housing units back online, without additional development, so that families can find a quality home in the communities they love.”

The PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 2004-71) provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to support projects in the public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for these grants through the LSA program.
